How to Use Tor Browser
To access the links listed in our directory (URLs ending in .onion), you must use a specialized browser designed for the Tor network. Standard browsers like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari cannot resolve these addresses.
Step 1: Download Tor Browser
Visit the official Tor Project website at https://www.torproject.org/download/. Download the version appropriate for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, or Android).
Important: Only download Tor Browser from the official source to ensure you are getting a safe and unmodified version.
Step 2: Install and Launch
Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Once installed, launch the Tor Browser.
Step 3: Connect to the Tor Network
Upon launching, you will see a "Connect" button. Click it to establish a connection to the Tor network. This process may take a few moments as the browser connects to the encrypted circuit.
Step 4: Browse Safely
Once connected, you can enter .onion URLs into the address bar just like any other website. The browser will route your traffic through multiple relays to protect your anonymity.
Safety Tips
- Disable JavaScript: For maximum security, consider setting the security level to "Safest" in the browser settings, which disables JavaScript on non-HTTPS sites.
- Don't install extensions: Avoid adding third-party plugins or add-ons, as they may compromise your anonymity.
- Don't resize the window: Keeping the window at its default size helps prevent browser fingerprinting.
